New Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

New Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Having olive skin with warm undertones means a constant struggle to find foundations that actually match my skintone, especially in drugstores. I was pleasantly surprised to find a range, be it small, of warm colours for a drugstore foundation. This foundation only comes in 8 shades so there's not an extensive range of colours to choose from, but I found No56 to be the best match for me. (As an FYI, my skintone is NC40-42 at MAC and Warm Natural at Bobbi Brown.)

The bottle is made of glass with a plastic cap and pump dispenser which is really easy to control so you can dispense as little or as much product as you want. The liquid itself has quite a light formula which I find blends into my skin really well and fairly easily too. I am currently using a Sigma F80 flat kabuki brush to blend in the foundation and I find it very easy to work with. I would say this foundation gives medium coverage to the skin which is buildable.

Bourjois claims that this foundation gives the skin a 'radiance boost' with the enrichment of 'fruit therapy'. I definitely did notice that my skin looked more radiant and had a healthy looking glow to it when wearing this foundation. I also found that I didn't have to blot as much as I used to as my skin wasn't getting as shiny as it usually would with my cream based foundations, which was a bonus! The formulation has a light fruity scent to it which I quite like. I don't find it overpowering and it definitely beats the poster paint smell of mac's foundations!

Bourjois also claim that this foundation gives the skin a 'healthy glow and flawless complexion' for up to 16 hours. I'd have to disagree here and say it lasts for more like 6-8 hours at a push. Now yes I do have oily skin so that may be a factor but considering the consistency of it, I'd be very surprised if it did last for more than 10 hours on any type of skin.

My skin is generally quite oily, sensitive and prone to breaking out. In the past I have tried out many liquid foundations and hadn't come across any which didn't break me out... until now. Hooray for Bourjois! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a more affordable medium coverage liquid foundation to give this a try.
