As soon as I saw these colours I had to
have them! They're both so gorgeous and so... ME! I picked up this Essie nail
polish duo kit called 'favourites to fall for' from Superdrug for £12.99, which
includes the colours bahama mama (a warm,
rich, creamy plum) & chinchilly (a sleek granite grey).
With these being my first Essie nail polishes, I had high hopes
and I can gladly say they didn't disappoint. Two coats are enough to give an
even and opaque layer of colour. The brush is a slightly bigger version of
Rimmel 60 second brush, which is my absolute favourite nail polish applicator
brush. The only downside would be that it is slightly wider than I'd
prefer, but that's because I have quite slim nails. Nevertheless I still
managed to apply the polish with ease and without making a royal mess.
The polish itself
is a good consistency, not too runny but I'd prefer it to be slightly thicker
so that I could get away with one coat when I'm in a rush (which is always).
It lasted on my
nails for 4 days without chipping, but I think it could have lasted longer with
a better base coat (I used Barry M's which I'm not convinced with). If anyone
has any recommendations for a good base coat, let me know in the comments below!
I'm loving the
colour range they have on offer and I can't wait to try out some
spring/summer colours!
