WOW it's been a while since my last post! But my excuse is that I am planning a wedding (YAY) and that has been very
So anyway, a little while ago I made an order off Benefit's site because I needed a new tube of mascara and I really wanted a few more of their boxed powders (blushers). I have to say, Benefit really do make an effort with packaging. I loved opening up the box with everything wrapped up really nicely in cute pink tissue paper! They even threw in a few samples sachets which is always nice to receive.
My Box O' Powders
Dallas - This is the one I was most unsure about before ordering and the one that turned out to be my favourite. It's a dusky pink/brown colour and I wasn't sure whether it would suit me but boy was I wrong! It's a brilliant natural tone for olive skin and because it's a slightly deeper colour, it works as a great contouring product as well as blush. Who doesn't love a 2 in 1?!
Hoola - It's been raved about as a fantastic warm-toned contouring bronzer/blush and I couldn't agree more. The fact that it is matte makes it perfect for building up intensity as a contour colour on any skintone.
Coralista - I've heard a lot of great things about this blush shade and I absolutely love coral/peach colours as I think they are generally more complimentary on olive skin tones than pink shades. I have to say I am probably the most disappointed with this boxed powder. I find that it looks quite frosty on my skin as it's quite a cool-toned coral, which is really disappointing as many people seem to love it!
Hervana - I picked this one up a while back and loved it from the moment the Benefit counter lady tested it on my skin. It's a lovely colour wheel of matte purples and pinks which gives a soft wash of colour on the cheeks, perfect for a daytime look. I really don't think Hervana gets enough credit, it's a beautiful blush!
Sugarbomb - This is the most versatile boxed powder out of those I have collected. The colours are all gorgeous and they work so well to give a hint of colour, shimmer and highlight. I think this is another shade that would work well for all skin tones.
If you've not checked out my review on Benefit's 'They're Real' Mascara, you can have a read here.
As a whole, I'm very impressed with Benefit's box o' powders. There is a small but great selection of colours and finishes that are really versatile and easy to use and they have the most adorable packaging! The only downside is that the boxes aren't the most compact so aren't the easiest to travel with.
Rockateur is the next box on my wishlist :)
